MODULE 5: XR IN TOURISM VET
MODULE 5: XR IN TOURISM VET
In this module you will learn how Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality can be combined to enrich vocational training in tourism. Through examples and practical guidance, you will see how XR creates immersive simulations, contextual learning and collaborative experiences, helping teachers and students design effective and engaging learning pathways.
ABOUT THIS TRAINING
XR in Tourism VET shows how Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality can be combined to create richer, more effective learning experiences in vocational education. This module introduces the concept of integrated XR, highlighting its role in improving engagement, accessibility and skill development in tourism training.
The content is organised into three main parts:
- Unit 1: Introduction to XR in Tourism VET
Watch a short video that illustrates how VR, AR and MR can be combined in tourism training and explore the main benefits of XR technologies for learners and educators.
- Unit 2: How to Integrate VR, AR and MR
Understand how each technology can be used within a learning pathway: VR for immersive, risk-free simulations, AR for contextual enrichment of real-world activities, and MR for interactive, collaborative scenarios. Learn to design training paths that combine them effectively.
- Unit 3: Summary and Reflection
Review the key takeaways of this module and reflect on how integrated XR can be applied to your own teaching or learning context. You will be encouraged to propose ideas and evaluate how XR can improve tourism education by enhancing learner engagement and skill acquisition.
By the end of this module, you will be able to explain how XR technologies can be integrated into tourism training, compare their advantages and limitations, and design effective XR-enhanced learning experiences.
Are you ready to discover how combining VR, AR and MR can transform tourism education into a more engaging, accessible and future-oriented learning journey?
